Mission
It is our Mission to provide the best in value and service, staff, and equipment, to fully meet the various levels and needs of our clients. Diamond Baseball will provide a comfortable, high-caliber and professionally run training facility that teaches young men and women the fundamental skills of baseball and softball. We strive to enhance the enjoyment of sports training for the whole family. We will be active in and supportive of community events whenever possible. Diamond Baseball will provide a fun environment so that parents & siblings may feel at home while away from home.
Founder
Jeff Senzel has lived in Knoxville for over 15 years. Children Nick and Madison were active in baseball and softball & basketball. Jeff played college basketball at Knox College in Illinois. His son Nick signed with The University of Tennessee in 2013 to play VOL baseball & continue his education. Nick was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds organization.
Jeff recognized a big need for a local facility for athletes of all levels to improve their skills, speed and agility. He also desired to create a family-friendly environment that could host many kinds of events such as birthday parties, lock-ins and other special occasions.
Simcox Academy
During his coaching career, over 100 players signed pro contracts while nine were first round picks. Simcox has coached 15 players that have played major league baseball. In the summer of 2015, Coach Simcox returned to the University of Tennessee as assistant coach. Coach Simcox announced his return to Diamond in September of 2017.
Larry has produced a DVD entitled, “Infield Play: Fundamentals & Drills,” an instructional video for all ages. Larry currently lives in Farragut with his wife Linda. They have two children, a daughter Erin and son, A.J. Read more about Coach Simcox's playing and coaching accomplishments.
